Well, to me, Laura just emanated love. As a young child, I just knew when I would walk through the door to the Dyar house that I was welcome. But not just welcome--I was part of the family. I know my Mom and her friends miss her dearly, but those of us who grew up with her as children miss her maybe even more. She was like family to us, and we will always feel privileged to be a part of that family. When you walked in Laura and Gene's door, it was as if a warm blanket of love had been placed upon your shoulder. I will mis her dearly.

As you have rightly learned where to seek consolation in sorrow, I am sure that you are bearing this with patience.' A friend writing to John Knox upon the passing of Knox's dear friend and young wife, Marjory. 1560 My prayer for your family is that you will find in Him rest for your weary souls and a place of refuge in this most difficult time. I pray also that the Comforter will strengthen you and mend your broken hearts. But keep this in mind, that it is through that very brokenness through which He enters. We grieve but not without hope. Thank you for sharing your dear sweet mother with me. She was one of my closest and dearest of friends. I will miss her sorely. God be with each and every one of you. With my deepest sympathies,
- Ellen, Savannah, GA
